Negash Ali

Negash Ali (born 27 November 1990) is an Eritrean-Danish rapper raised in Århus V, Denmark.[1] Negash was born shorty after his family fled their home in Eritrea near the end of the country's conflict with Ethiopia. His life has been shaped by the challenges and inequalities he faced being a refugee in a new and different environment. These and his family are recurring themes in the personal and always strong lyrics along with more common teen reflections like restlessness.

He was part of a successful hip-hop project, Majors,[2] which also involves MCs J-Spliff and Nat Ill, and super DJs Static and Noize. The group's first critically acclaimed record was released in the spring of 2008. Negash raps in English. In early 2009 Negash released his debut album as a solo artist, Asmarino (a term used for people from the city of Asmara, the capital of Eritrea),[3] and during 2009 he toured in Denmark, took part in the Roskilde Festival, the Spot Festival Home Festival and also in Europe's two biggest hip hop festivals: Splash and Hip Hop Kemp.

He recorded "My House 2.0" with Kato and Brandon Beal, which reached number forty in Denmark.[4]
